黒夜葬
Kokuyasou (黒夜葬) is a Gothic/Neo-Classical Metal project (with Trance music influences) from Japan and formed in 2006, with the following members:
*刹那 (Setsuna) - All Instruments & Programming
*Rib:y(uhki) (See also Imperial Circus Dead Decadence and Vaguedge Dies For Dies Irae) - Vocals (2011 and onward)
Setsuna's signature sound has a very Neo-Classical touch (with complex arpeggios etc.) and with very symphonic, Dracula/Vampire-like themes. He also very often include epic electronic songs as intros and individual tracks (especially noticeable with his early albums).
Setsuna's sound on MetamorphosiS (also MetamorphosiS / 限定解放) and afterwards became more powerful and heavy, and also a bit faster. Before that they had more piano/organ and less heaviness in their sound. (Considering that Setsuna was doing a lot electronic music, like Trance with Neo-Classical and Gothic themes, before starting this band.)
Setsuna's more recent albums (不死ナル王女ハ真紅ノ冥淵ニテ哂ウ and onward) features Rib:y(uhki) as a vocalist (both death growls and clean vocals) and this has made an impact on the musical style that Setsuna usually had into a more Symphonic Black/Death Metal style. Setsuna claimed himself that he had been looking forward to have vocals in his music for a long time and to be able to represent the feelings, he wanted to express through his music, along with spoken works. He was also very determined about that he won't return to pure instrumental music again exclusively (with his last Instrumental album Einherjar) (with the exception that a suitable vocalist can't be found). Rib:y(uhki) has also worked on many of Setsuna's album artworks before.

Cocytus, MetamorphosiS, MetamorphosiS / 限定解放, 嚮導する聖女は屍骸の椅子で奇蹟を謳う, 妍麗たる讃仰は悲啼喘ぎし蒼焔に炙られ and 狡猾なる混沌の仔と至極たる黎明に捧ぐ葬斂の劇詩 are original (non-cover/arrange) releases. The others are Touhou-arranged albums.
