קורין אלאל
Corinne Allal, Israeli rock singer, songwriter and composer, received the Composers' and Authors' Society (AKUM) award for 2003, for her life's work in Israeli music. Korin Allal was born in Tunis, Tunisia in 1955 and immigrated to Israel when she was eight years old. Korin's first album, in 1984, revealed a strong, sensitive musician who makes a powerful statement and does not pander to her audience. To date, Korin has made ten best-selling albums, and a recording of a live performance with some of Israel's top musicians rendering her songs. Korin has given many concerts throughout Israel over the years and has also appeared in other countries (New York, Hong Kong, Amsterdam, Tunis, Paris). Korin, one of Israel's most important and admired creative musicians, has gathered a large following in Israel through her songs that appeal to a broad cross section of the population, and due to her collaboration with other Israeli artists, for whom she has written songs and produced albums (Gali Atari, Eran Tzur, the Witches, Eviatar Banai, and more). Ehud Manor, one of Israel's greatest lyricists, who has collaborated with Allal on many songs, writes: "In my opinion she is one of the most complex and exciting composers in Israeli music in the past 25 years. She has innocence, freshness, curiosity, courage, and immense commitment and dedication. Her music holds a special beauty – she is an artist of a rare breed". Korin has released her 10'th album, "The blue color of the sky", on September 2004. On September 2005, N.M.C record company released the double cd – "The best of Korin Allal", as a gesture for the great artist. The double cd contains 37 of Korin's best hits. Read more on Last.fm.
