Невена Цонева
Nevena Tsoneva (Bulgarian: Невена Цонева) (born 17 August 1986 in Sevlievo) is a Bulgarian singer who won the first season of the Bulgarian television series Music Idol in 2007.
Nevena’s first performance is at the age of 6. Nevena entered the first season of the contest in January 2007. She began auditioning together with over 8,000 hopefuls in a race for a place in the Music Idol finals. Before she qualified for the finals, Nevena impressed the judges with her powerful voice and demonstrated her vocal potential with songs such as Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive”, ABBA’s “Mamma Mia”, Mariah Carey’s “Hero” and Christina Aguilera’s “The Voice Within”, the latter she chose to sing in the Finale.
Nevena signed a record deal with Virginia Records (representative of Universal Music Group for Bulgaria), which was the prize as a winner of the Music Idol contest. Her debut album is set for release in late October 2007. She released her first single “За тебе песен нямам” (“Za tebe pesen niamam” - in English: “I don’t have a song for you”) on September 28, 2007. The song, which is a mix of modern pop and R&B, will also be performed in English in the album.
