坂本美雨
Miu Sakamoto (坂本美雨, born May 1, 1980 in Tokyo, Japan) is a vocalist and songwriter. Her musical style can be described as ethereal, dreamy pop. She is known for her powerful soprano voice. Owing to having grown up in New York City, Sakamoto developed a worldly aptitude from a young age, and is fluent in English. She is the daughter of two hugely successful Japanese musicians, Akiko Yano (矢野顕子) and Ryûichi Sakamoto (坂本龍一).
She debuted in 1997 at the age of 16 as Sister M on her father's album THE OTHER SIDE OF LOVE, and then under her birth name with the album aquascape in 1998. Sakamoto releases music on a very infrequent basis, her newest album being released in 2012, and her last single release being in 2010. She concentrates primarily on live performances and collaborations. She has performed with a wide variety of artists, including Salyu, 雅-MIYAVI-, Tetsuya Komuro (小室哲哉), VAMPS, and her parents.
