池田正典
In early 1990s, 池田正典 (Masanori Ikeda) started his career as a DJ. After having a weekend residency at the legendary club, Wag in London, he came back to Japan and moved his base of activity to Tokyo. After that, he started his production career. With his solo alias, Mansfield and other unit names, he has released numerous albums and 12 Inch singles. His tracks have been licensed to many compilations in Japan and abroad and have received great critical acclaim. Also, as DJ Ikeda Masanori, he has produced tons of remixes and many official mix CDs as well. He has remixed popular club music artists such as Little Big Bee, Slowly as well as pop singers like Kyoko Fukuda and his cross the board remix works and quality of them, have received much praise.
Also, Masanori has produced mix CD series such as Play Room and Spin Out which were cutting edge as if they read what was to come in the future and they were popular enough to be charted in Oricon (Japan's main popular chart) Album charts.
Recently, Masanori has been regularly DJing in the weekends at main clubs in Japan as well as clubs around the world such as Russia, Lithuania, Korea, etc., mixing across the board dance music, for instance, obscure house, electro, and trancey disco.
In November this year, through the renowned Japanese label, Flower Records, Masanori Ikeda is going to release as Masanori Ikeda, a 12 Inch single of a cover of famed Ibiza Balaeric classic by William Pitt, City Lights. And in Jan. 2008, he is planning to release a new style official mix CD and new track as well. After going through a long history and still making progress, Masanori Ikeda's activities needs to be checked out indeed. Read more on Last.fm.
