50Hz
There are 2 artists by this name:
1) London-based band 50Hz from 2001-2008. They released their first single on Shifty Disco Records, Armchair Army in 2001. Over the subsequent years they steadily built a loyal following, and had been championed by Steve Lamacq on Radio One. Eight 50Hz songs feature on Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor¹s massively popular motorcyle documentary Long Way Round.
In the summer of 2005 they were taken on by producer Ian Grimble, and began recording their debut album. Guitarist Andy Gott had been suffering for some time with serious back problems, and felt that he would be unable to continue with the band after the recording. Over the subsequent year, 50Hz worked on the album with Andy and auditioned dozens of potential replacements. In September 2006, the album was finally complete, and 50Hz had added new guitarist, Dan Cochrane, to its line-up.
50Hz consisted of: Mark Nilsson (Vocals/Keyboard), , Dan Cochrane (Guitar), Anthony Wix (Bass) and Richard Royce (Drums).
