Amorf Ördögök
Amorf Ördögök (Amorphous Devils) is an unusual music experiment from Budapest, Hungary in 1993. Their captivating music has the cutting edge sound fused with the atmospheric moods of a half a century ago. The band on stage constists of eight members. Their music is fresh, hip and melodious, yet stands for his own. The Devils play a unique verison of modern pop.
At the core of the band's sound were breakbeats and noises laid down by Ambrus Tövisházi, who also produces tracks with his Erik Sumo Band (their album is out on Stuttgart record label Pulver). The front male vocalist, Szabolcs Tariska, also in charge of the lyrics, has emerged from the theater and film world. He takes us on a journey to the 30s and 40s often fondly or with lingering irony. Bar songs in the vein of Kurt Weil and Tom Waits, gloomy and happy marches are the building blocks of their vibes just as much as the contribution of the other band members: Bori Péterfy (Péterfy Bori & Love Band), who is the lead female vocalist, and also an actress, the noise guitar virtuoso Ádám Mészáros, István Pápai with his dub-latin elements on percussions, Gergely Drapos on rolling funky bass, Ákos Tompa on trumpet and Viktor Laskai, a dynamic and sensitive drummer.
The band officially broke up in May 2007.
