Art vs. Science
Art vs. Science are an Australian alternative/dance band from Sydney, New South Wales; who formed early in 2008. The group consists of Jim Finn on vocals and keyboards; Dan McNamee (styled as Dan Mac) on vocals, guitars and keyboards; and Dan Williams (styled as Dan W., also of Philadelphia Grand Jury) on drums and vocals.
The group's debut release was an eponymous Art vs. Science EP in 2009, featuring the singles "Flippers" and "Parlez-vous français?;" the latter of which reached number 2 in the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2009. In 2010, the group toured the United Kingdom in support of La Roux in March; folowed by a tour with Groove Armada in May. The trio received three nominations at the ARIA Music Awards of 2010 for their independent extended play release, Magic Fountain. In 2011, the group won "Best Independent Release" for their debut album The Experiment. The album spawned several singles, including "A.I.M. Fire!," "Higher" and "With Thoughts."
The band released a new single in early 2014, entitled "Create/Destroy." An EP named after the single is set for release in April 2014.
