Asaviour
Born and raised in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, Asaviour made his vinyl debut in 1999 on Jehst's highly acclaimed first release “Premonitions” (YNR). His appearance on Jehst’s 2002 club smash "People Under the Weather" (Low Life) further raised his profile and quickly lead to his solo debut, the phenomenal “Savoir Faire” EP (Low Life) in 2003, which contained the underground smash "Money in the Bank" (feat. Jehst). Around the same time he also appeared on Tommy Evan’s “Mourning Skies”, taken from “The Turbulent Times Of…” EP/CD (YNR) and “Monotony”, the second single from Jehst’s classic “Falling Down” LP (Low Life) before dropping his second solo outing, the highly acclaimed underground hit “The Homecoming” b/w “Money In The Bank (Remix)” (feat. Yungun and Kyza) on YNR in 2004.
2006 was a busy year for Asaviour. He teamed up with DJ IQ for the "Play 2 Win" Mix CD on his own imprint, Savingrace Music, featured on DJ IQ’s debut album “Brain Food” (Mancan Music) and put in a number of guest appearances on Ghost’s “Seldom Seen Often Heard” (Breakin’ Bread) LP (including lead single “The Pay Off”) before finally hitting listeners with his highly anticipated debut LP “The Borrowed Ladder” (Low Life).
The subsequent media frenzy raised his profile even further and left listeners without any doubt about his skills on the mic. His unique voice, flow and twist on content set him apart from many of his counterparts, and as well as being a sick spitter Asaviour can also get busy on the boards, producing beats for both the “Savoir Faire” EP and “The Borrowed Ladder” LP. Just check out blazing hot joints like “A Track Called It”, double time banger “So Northern” and D90 Rules Remix (feat. Braintax), and Usmaan’s “You’re The Same” (Cryogenics)
An outstanding live performer, Asaviours skills are by no means limited to the studio and he has built up a reputation on the live circuit tearing up stages with Jehst and DJ IQ throughout the UK and abroad. He has also racked up a large number of solo performances and has recently appeared as part of renowned Producer/DJ Ghost’s “Seldom Seen Often Heard” Tour along with Verb T and Kashmere. Consistently gigging alongside such top-ranking international acts as DJ Cash Money, Jon B, J-Zone, Al Shid, Q-Bert, Quantic, Pete Rock, De La Doul, Atmosphere, Terri Walker, Lethal B, London Electricity and Non Phixion, to name a few, put him and his associates in a class of their own.
Forever on the grind, when he’s not gigging Asaviour can be found in the lab working with the likes of Mr Thing, DubbleEdge, Micall Parkinsun, Evil Ed, Chicago’s Chester Copperpot, Manchester’s finest Broke N English and Konny Kon, and fellow Huddersfield natives Ground Wurq Ent. He is currently working on a collaboration album featuring DJ IQ called “A-Loop-Theory” featuring a collection of some of the most exiting artist in Black music today, which will be ready for the public mid in 2007.
