Beach Volleyball
Beach Volleyball is a London based 'Noisy-Gloom Pop' band. Formed in Manchester by Alex Smith (Vocals/Guitar), Dom Ashton (Drums) and Adam O'Sullivan (Guitar) in Summer 2012, the band have since been joined by German bassist Monika Demmler. Using distorted guitar textures and quiet vocals, Beach Volleyball create a sound they describe as 'Noisy-Gloom Pop' taking influence from bands such as My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth and Boards of Canada.
The band self-released their debut album "Broadcast" digitally in August 2013. February 2014 saw the digital re-release of "Broadcast" via the indie label Spiralchords. The music on the album is fuzz-driven and reverberant, powerful and filled with seductive noise splinters and at the same time melancholic, catchy, fragile and coated with an epic, dreamy fragrance.
