Big World
There are two aritsts with the name Big World.
The first is a Latin/House band and the second is a local punk/rock/metal band from Newport, RI.
A description of the first:
They’ve been around for quite a while. They’ve been seriously successful for years. They’ve been widely known for their massive hit „Morning Light“. But steadily rising in 2007, they’ve entered an altogether different league. Loaded with charged-up sound and equipped with an irresistible hit formula, their new-school club anthems continually claimed top3 charts positions at Beatport, DJ Tunes and Cool Cuts Charts, got signed to reigning labels such as Nero/Joia, Subliminal and Ministry of Sound and licensed to this year’s top house compilations.
After their awesome first cooperation with Denis The Menace on „Going Back To My Roots“ (signed to Subliminal as Erick Morillo’s top track for WMC Miami 2008) and their brand-new 1 remix of Delinquents „My Destiny“ in late 2007 (1 at Cool Cuts Charts), the new formation packed an even harder punch. Signed worldwide with Nero/Joia, their follow-up Denis The Menace & Big World „Fired Up“ is set to define the sound of 2008, with some dirty pounding drums and a boombastic bassline.
At the end of 2005 they released their next single "Me Gusta" on Casa Rosso Recordings, a sun-drenched but thoroughly pumping Latin House track powered by the lead vocals of Bonny Ferrer. Their Latin-driven „Fuerza“ followed shortly after, soon gained momentum and ended up 3 at Beatport. In summer 2007 the long-awaited „Morning Light 2007“ was re-released by Opaque and climbed to 1 at DJ Tunes and again 3 at Beatport. Eventually „Me Gusta“ was picked by Ministry of Sound for world-wide re-release in late 2007.
It doesn’t come as a surprise then, that Big World’s latest releases are featured on some of the finest club compilations of today, such as Defected In The House Miami 2008, leading Ibiza compilations Amnesia Ibiza, Privilege Ibiza and Café del Mar 08, Ministry Of Sound’s Club Files, Clubbers Guide to Berlin and The Annual, and other renowned club compilations such as Sensation White 2007 and Love Parade 2007. European radio stations such as Ibiza Global Radio (Spain), RTS fm (France), Passion fm (UK), Bash fm (Germany) and Radio1 (Greece) eagerly jumped on this tidal wave and are about to regularly broadcast Big World’s dj sets.
Big Worlds dj/producer Markus Binapfl left his home town Hamburg in early 2008 to join forces with Denis The Menace at the throbbing heart of Berlin. Their most accomplished joint effort so far is their cooperation on „Fired Up!“, an exceedingly powerful peak-time bomb fueled by the support of big players such as Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Eddie Thoneick, Tom Novy, Bob Sinclar, John Dahlbäck and Jonathan Ulysses who gave but the strongest comments: „Wicked! Brilliant! Slammin’! Fantastic!“
Let’s face it. With „Goin Back To My Roots“ on Subliminal and „Fired Up!“ on Nero/Joia, Big World must be considered one of the most improved players on the international house circuit and, in inspiring interaction with Denis The Menace, one of the hottest production teams of the year. In short, Big World have maximized their sound to anthemize the world.
