Blindspott
Blindspott are one of New Zealand’s most successful rock/metal bands. Their debut album sold Triple Platinum in New Zealand and was released in Australia, South East Asia and Japan. To support these releases, the band has toured Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Japan with some of the worlds top rock acts such as: Metallica, Deftones, Linkin Park, Alexisonfire, Avenged Sevenfold to name a few. “Your’s Truly” was the first single of the bands sophomore album “End the Silence” which was recorded by Ed Rose (Emery, Puddle of Mud, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Kurt Cobain) The Highly anticipated album was produced by Pelle Henricsson and Eskil Lovstrom (Poison the Well, Refused, Cult of Luna, Komeda) and was released in May 2006 making Blindspott the only band in New Zealand history to have two consecutive number 1 debut albums both shipping Gold on release. 2008 saw the release of the Sold Out cd/dvd: Live at the Powerstation which is also at Gold status. This disc captured the intensity of Blindspott’s live performance. A thank you to all the loyal Blindspott fans.
2011 will see a new era for blindspott with their announced reformation, headlining spot at New Zealand's 'Homegrown' festival and replacing of previous drummer Shelton Woolright with newcomer Tristian Reily. They are said to be recording their 3rd album sometime during 2011.
Blindspott are operating under the name Blacklist due to legal issues between the remaining band members and drummer Shelton Woolright(I Am Giant). the first new realise from Blacklist is the song "from the blindspott". they played there first show as blacklist at homegrown 2011 and look to be moving on from the drama.
