Brian Borcherdt
Brian Borcherdt is a Canadian singer-songwriter originally from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. He also plays in the band Holy Fuck. He has released 4 studio albums (one of which - Torches is a two-disc album) and an EP under the name Brian Borcherdt. He has also played in Burnt Black, Trephines and By Divine Right. The Moth EP was an album about the suicide of his best friend, Marcus Boudreau, singer of Christopher Robin Device and Project 23. His other two earlier albums, The Remains of Brian Borcherdt Vol. 1 & 2, are not as conceptualized.
His earlier music consists of driving, passionate electric ballads, with a good dash of noise and sounds mixed in. His newer material is stripped down and bare, with haunting vocals and guitar. The songs resonate as if they have all been played in a vacant room.
New album "Dusted" due summer 2012 through Hand Drawn Dracula.
