C-jeff
C-jeff is a musician from Yoshkar-Ola, Russia. Classically trained in piano as a child, he started to compose music on the ZX Spectrum computer back in December 2001. In 2003, he became a member of the virtual band AY Riders. In 2006, he founded the chiptune netlabel Ubiktune with his own album Konami as the label’s first release.
At this period, the high immersion into jazz and rock music (and later progressive rock and metal) strongly influenced on his approach to composition. Moving from ZX Spectrum sound to NES sound in 2009, second album Electric was released on the prominent chiptune netlabel Pause Music. The same year, he also began to work on a project with Megus called Teleidofusion. With this cooperation, a symbiosis of chiptune and live instruments opened the way for C-jeff to live performing as a keyboardist. On March 15th of 2010, Teleidofusion’s album Around Past was released on Ubiktune.
In 2012, on January 1st his chiptune/synth progressive album Preschtale was released, followed in 2013 by Preschtale Variations — a compilation of remixes and arrangements of the original album by 16 different artists. His latest solo effort, 80s-inspired “Big Steel Wheels” was released in November of 2013.
