Caleb Monroe
Caleb Monroe (born 1978 in Houston, Texas) is a self proclaimed “purist” when it comes to country music. He prefers the standards of George Strait over the “pop” style of many modern artists.
He spent his teen years singing in Bath County, Va with the Ovations (Selby Schwend and Dennis Webb). Caleb and the Ovations performed at many local concerts, as well as hosting their own. Public performances included multiple Piney Mountain Jamborees, talent shows, and the Homestead resort's rodeo. In early 1996, Caleb and the Ovations won an award at the West Virginia State Fair.
Caleb moved to Nashville in the fall of 1996. He quickly scored an artist development deal with Robert Tassi at Warner Brothers Records. Caleb has been featured at the “Coffee Break” and “Bell Buckle Café”. He used to perform regularly at the Riverbend Country Club in Shelbyville, TN, as well as an annually top billed performer at the "South Jackson Goes Country" show in Tullahoma, TN. He has been paying his dues playing in night clubs such as the Nashville Palace, Tootsies Orchid Lounge, and many other Nashville Hot Spots. In 2008, he won the "Rising Star" and "Division Champion" awards at the 2008 Mt. Juliet Star Contest (TN).
Currently, Caleb resides outside of Nashville, TN with his wife Amy and their son Kannan. He is writing and recording music for his own publishing company (Poplar Hill Music) and recording his tracks at his home studio. Caleb is continuing to grow his singer/songwriter catalog.
