Casey LaLonde
Juniper "June" LaLonde, formerly known as Casey LaLonde (her former pseudonym is her original birth name, but her legal name is Casey Buck, born Oct. 9th, 1988) was born in Bath, Maine and then quickly moved to Minnesota, where she spent the rest of her childhood talking to the birds and wandering around the forest looking for other, less flighty company. As of 2018, Casey now identifies as female and goes under the name June LaLonde.
A musician, visual artist, film-maker, staunch advocate of the coffee and cigarettes diet, type-writer enthusiast and the second half of the budding production duo Birdsock, June started recording in late 2008, with songs ranging the emotional gamut from loud and petulant, soaring and tense, to quiet and introspective and all points between. Being completely self taught, her focus with his work is two-fold: To inspire others into exploring their own musicality, and to engage the listener - strike a chord with them, whether that's exploring the universal concept of love, or something more specific - escaping a pack of ghosts through the woods with your sister at night. What remains constant in her work is a raw, uncompromising honesty and heartfelt emotion, all channeled through a dinged-up mic into an even more dinged-up laptop in an un-treated bedroom.
All in all, one day she'd like to perform somewhere other than said bedroom, and maybe get signed if an A&R agent's having an off day. Then again, she's just happy he's even this far along, having started from nothing at all, and on a whim. Honest, but happy. Read more on Last.fm.
