Chasing Furies
Chasing Furies was a christian alternative rock band from Fort Woth, Texas formed in 1997. The group was made up of siblings Sarah MacIntosh (née Sarah Meeker), the group's chief songwriter and vocalist, older brother Joshua Meeker, the band's lead guitarist who also writes and sings, and younger sister Rachel Meeker, who plays the piano and sings backing vocals.
Their first album was nominated for the 2000 Dove Awards in the category of Best Modern Rock/Alternative album, and it was also featured on the Top Ten of 1999 album list, sharing the ninth position with Wilco's Summerteeth of the online music magazine The Phantom TollBooth.
The band's first album, With Abandon, was released in 1999 via Sparrow Records. The song "Thicker" was the first single, it received good airplay becoming the eighth most requested song of 1999 on the ChristianRock.net online radio broadcasting, and it also originated a video directed by the award-winner filmmaker Brandon Dickerson.
The band had a short life, ending in 2000 just after the promotional tour for their album. Right after the band ended, Sarah began touring with Michael W. Smith as an acoustic guitar player and background vocalist. She also married Jonathan MacIntosh, Luna Halo's ex-guitarist. Sarah MacIntosh now performs as a solo artist. Read more on Last.fm.
