Clarian
Rumour has it that while Clarian was institutionalized at a government testing facility somewhere in the North, he began song-writing as an occupational therapy with nothing but an empty room and a broken heart. Clarian was released from the clinic in 2010 through sponsorship by a secret organization for reasons known only to a handful of Swedish chess players. Since then Clarian has established himself as a producer’s producer. His work and musical pursuits have been turning heads and quickly championed by many of today’s music icons and brightest stars. A well respected name in friendly neighbourhood warehouse communities across the world while consistently outputting a stunning array of music productions, collaborations, studio wizardry, and global live performance.
Empowering the relenting and working class hums and the cynical grit from exhausted synths, overworked sequencers, and broken tape machines with soft dreams of a faded reality, Clarian’s dreamy noir touch explores and exposes the inner mind vs. the collective through clever music structures and cosmic vibrations designed as a safe haven for all walks of life. Some reporters in Taiwan may have even described it as: "similar to an intensified cannabinoid induced state of a dolphin’s consciousness". Clarian is on the fringe between mainstream bedroom dance music and faking pop, commanding listeners immediately to the dance floor like zombies to brainy beats with his signature electronic poetry.
When Clarian is not falling completely off the face of the planet, he’s worked for over a decade as the head studio engineer at North America’s most notorious and sought after electronic music studio: Lost Star Records. In his spare time, he builds his own microphones out of latex and trashed headsets and tests them out on angry alligators and rhinos in uncultivated areas of South Africa against all common sense. He has been consistently touring internationally on pretty much every continent for about 7 years while simultaneously releasing music on record labels such as: Visionquest, Turbo, Life And Death, Rumors and Kompakt.
In the summers, Clarian has spent way too much time in weird bedroom apartments in Berlin and hanging out with the ducks across the street from Hardwax checking his balance online for limited editions. Fronting as A&R for Seth Troxler's indie label Soft Touch of the exotic and strange, he serves as the artistic backbone. His latest works include mixing, arranging and producing for Tiga’s most recent album: No Fantasy Required on Counter Records.
