Climber
The name "Climber" is at least used by three different bands.
1. Comprised of two producers, Shift and DJ Tosh. Shift (aka Mindshift) was a key member in the now disbanded Deaf To The General Public group from Miami, Florida. Besides producing, DJ Tosh is a DJ and an avid vinyl collector of Japanese origin, grew up in Santiago, Chile and then made his way to the US.
2. Climber is a band from Portland, Oregon that has four people in it with the following names and roles: Michael (Vocals, Piano, Wurlitzer, Organ, Programming), Dean(Guitars, Keyboards), Kyle (Keyboards, Bass, Vocals), & Eric (Drums, Beats, other stuff).
3. Climber is also a band from central Illinois/St. Louis that recorded the album “momento mori” in September 1999. Recorded by Matt Allison at Atlas Studios in Chicago. The band consists of Joe Renza, Heather Dallape, Julieanne Butler, Theodore Moll. They recorded an EP in 2001 titled “virginia heart attack” and a 7”. The band is currently working on a new album. They are a punk/indie band that play songs that are easily relate-able to mid-westerners but recent work has made less reference to Illinois/the mid-west specifically and is more of a good representation of the mental state that the mid-west leaves you.
