Composition Of Sound
Composition Of Sound was formed in March 1980 by Vince Clarke (vocals and guitar), Martin L. Gore (keyboards) and Andrew Fletcher (bass). The band played only a few gigs in their hometown Basildon with a handful of songs, including: Addiction (Ghost of Modern Time), I Like It, Reason Man, Television Set, The Price of Love, Tomorrow's Dance. They've soon spotted a young lad named Dave Gahan performing David Bowie's "Heroes" cover at a local scout-hut jam session and invited him to join the band. With Gahan taking on the vocals, Clarke and Fletch switched to synthesizers and the four soon changed the name to Depeche Mode. Read more on Last.fm.
