Craggz & Parallel Forces
Doug McAvoy and Malcolm Sharp, aka Parallel Forces, released their debut drum'n'bass single in 2002, but we know them better today as a trio along with fellow Geordie Craig "Craggz" James. They made an instant impact in 2004 with the anthem "Fizzy Piglets". The tune staked out their sound, blending the bassline heaviness expected from Dillinja's Valve label with a highly musical flavour often featuring organic elements like guitar and vocals.
Their debut album "Northern Soul" (2006) followed through on this live funk influence, including downtempo and soul tunes as well as drum'n'bass, and coming with a second CD of C&PF Live; the Jungle Drummer and Andy Waterworth from London Elektricity feature amongst the band line-up.
