Crashdïet
Crashdïet originally formed in Stockholm, Sweden in 2000. Rifts and troubles in the band caused a breakup not long after.
In 2002, half of the band took on new members and the band was reformed.
They slowly built up a fan base with their shows. In 2004 they released their first single. This was followed by more singles, and being featured in TV commercials for mobile phone service provider "Tre".
In August of 2005 released their debut full-length album "Rest In Sleaze". The album made the top 10 in Sweden.
The band's success would be short-lived however. On January 20th of 2006, lead singer Dave Lepard was found dead, committed suicide, in his apartment in Uppsala, Sweden. After this, the remaining members decided they couldn't continue without Lepard, but later started the search for a new singer. And with the blessing from Lepard's family they continued with the same name.
The new singer H. Olliver Twisted was announced and made his first live performance at the Stockholm "Rest In Sleaze" festival. In October they released their second album, The Unattractive Revolution. The single "In the Raw" reached number 11 on the Swedish albums chart.
The Olliver-period wouldn't last for long. They broke with him in the summer 2008 due to his lack of commitment. H. Olliver Twisted a.k.a. Olli Herman later followed his ambitions to be a lead singer as the frontman of a Finnish hair-rockband Reckless Love. Many thought this would be the last of CRASHDÏET, but by June 2009 they had found a new singer, Simon Cruz. And by April 2010 they had released their third record with their third singer. Generation Wild peaked at #3 on the Swedish album chart and #1 on the Hard rock chart.
In early 2012 they officially announced the fourth studio album on their facebook page, which was released in January 2013. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
