Cremaster
There are at least two bands named after the muscle that raises and lowers the scrotum:
1. The joke metal band formed in 2001 in Rzeszów, Poland seems to get the most plays. Their Myspace gives some additional information (?):
'The poetical and musical Group of Warsaw, which was originated in Moscow. Both of these five ambitious Mexicans have met on May 1954 around the North Pole. There, they went to a Fisherman's Home in Las Vegas where they would roam and soon assemble this Australian plastic hip hop shit for good. As far as the band's name goes, the human race should be grateful for the great culture of the Carpathian masons and also the always enjoyable cream cake for providing the inspirations for "Cremaster". The group has been labeled as "The Liverpool four", the fascinated people of a liver floating in a pool. That is the reason for their frequent erotic references in their music. To add to that, the highly appealed fans not only adore Cremaster's music, but their math skills draw mighty crowds as well. Temporary political issues and the blizzard of 1996 account for Cremaster's existence today.'
They have released 3 full-length albums: 'Boletus Satanas' (2005), 'Pumpernikel' (2007) and 'No Nie No No' (2008).

2. The electro-acoustic improv duo of Ferran Fages (feedback mixing board, pick-ups) and Alfredo Costa Monteiro (objects on electric guitar) was formed one year earlier, in 2000.
Both come from the Barcelona experimental music scene and are active members of IBA col.lectiu d’improvisació. The common interest expressed by the two musicians to research noise, made possible a collaboration between the two. The choice and work on each instrument, due to the nature of the project, is focussed on the well of sound production with a direct, raw and physical approach to sound, avoiding effects, loops or prerecorded material. Until now, cremaster has collaborated with Franck Stofer, Mattin, Margarida Garcia, Ivan Palack_, Knut Aufferman and Sarah Washington.
They have released some 5 albums under the name Cremaster (not all of them full-length albums, several of them CD-Rs in very limited editions), and one as Mattin & Cremaster, a collaboration with the Basque noise artist.
related projects: Ferran Fages / Alfredo Costa Monteiro / Ruth Barberán, Ferran Fages / Jean-Philippe Gross / Will Guthrie, Ruth Barberán / Margarida Garcia / Alfredo Costa Monteiro / Ferran Fages, Ernesto Rodrigues / Alfredo Costa Monteiro / Guilherme Rodrigues / Margarida Garcia and I Treni Inerti (= Alfredo Costa Monteiro & Ruth Barberán).
