It’s not an easy task following DJ W!LD ’s path all across the planet! Behind the decks for 10 years now, his career cannot be described in a few lines anymore… W!LD plays from one continent to another, as a tireless traveller, spreading hot underground music to all people. At age 31, this electro music French “jack-of-all-trades”, despite his discretion, which is often mistaken as shyness, has succeeded in placing his mark on the club scene. For the moment, W!LD is busier than ever after the launch of his own Catwash Records label in March 2005 with his friend and partner Chris Carrier. Right from the start, their releases received critical acclaim from luminaries such as Andrew Weathehall, Funk D'Void, Magda, DJ Chloé, M.A.N.D.Y, Luciano, and many others. Working the field between acid, minimal, Chicago and sheer madness, the reputation of Catwash is steadily growing. W!LD has also realeased two singles with Catwash on Get Physical (Berlin,) and two with Crack & Speed, already causing major trouble on the dancefloor, as is his solo outing ‘Bass Me Up’ on Block Records.
Catwash have got some exciting new releases of their own coming out with Catwash 009 by Tommy Four Seven, and Catwash 010 by Mono Machine. Catwash 011 will be produced by W!LD, and Catwash 013 is a collaboration of W!LD and Carrier. W!LD has been spending some serious time in the studio himself - Catwash 011 will release three of his latest deep, techy journey tracks - BLOCAGE , ALERTE A RIO , SUNRISE in JULY.
W!LD has returned to Paris from a recent tour of Brazil, though still maintaining his links with South America having secured a regular live radio mix slot on the Puerto Rican station, Dub Radio. Tune into www.dubradiopr.com 5pm to 7pm Puerto Rican local time (GMT – 4hrs) every Sat to listen.
W!LD has also just joined forces with world renowned DJ and producer Savas Pascalidis from Berlin to form the SPICE Tour, which kicks off from Paris in May.
History
He started out in 1996 in a French-owned bar in Barcelona and immediately attracted attention with his eclectic and electric mixes, touching on house, funky and disco music. During his residence in the Catalan capital, he developed his “personal touch” at the Flat Cat before coming back to Paris to take over the decks of the Fumoir’s, at the legendary Palace Club. Already playing at many major events, he released his first production “Magic Orgasm” on Twisted. He became a regular face of the French club and electro scene – the Queen, Scream… – including radio shows that he hosted on “Radio FG”. At the same time, days and weeks spent in the studio, honing production skills, resulted in a number of releases on Combustible, Adult Only, Detour (from San Francisco) and Visitor, which marked the birth of the Catwash production team of DJ W!LD and Chris Carrier. Soon the strobe lights of foreign dancefloors beckoned, and W!LD converted to an electro scene globe-trotter: playing from Sao Paulo (he has a ‘love affair’ with Brazil), to London, NYC, (Twilo, Life), Cologne (das Boot), Berlin (Ostgut), Hong-Kong, Shanghai, Beijing - W!LD performs in the top clubs on the international scene. The renowned Fuse in Brussels made him a resident at the ‘La Démence’, and already he was dreaming of future journeys…
