DNS Project
Rene Pais, better known as dns Project, was born on the 25th of March, 1988 in a small Estonian town called Pärnu. His interest in music started at the age of 7, when he started to take piano classes. After taking them for about 2 years, he went to music school. In the beginning, it was quite cool there, but with years, it became more boring... When he had been there for about 5 years, he decided to quit. Then he bought a cheap portable keyboard (PSR-340) and started playing it. When he heard some good tunes on the radio, he often tried to play along to them on the keyboard. He got into dance music pretty soon (when he started listening to Scooter :D). Then he bought a bit more advanced keyboard (PSR-640), which had more possibilities than the previous. Back then he usually played music made by others, or made some easy remixes of them. When he got a new pc (in the Summer of 2004), he connected the synth to the PC. It gave much more possibilities to make good music (via MIDI), using music production software, such as Cubase SX. Then he tried to make his my own melodies for the first tracks. It wasn't easy at all in the beginning, production was poor and the sound sucked. Finally he came up with an 'okay' melody, he arranged it a bit and melody for his first tune was born, but it took him a while to finalise the tune. He finished his first track "Exceed The Limits" on 27. December 2004. It sounded VERY oldskool in style, but still eh, it was his first track. After that first track the sound got better and better as he acquired more and more production skills. After selling his PSR-640 he bought a synth with better sounds. (the Roland Juno-D). He gets his inspiration from many famous DJ/producers, like Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Ron van der Beuken, E-Craig, Rank 1, etc. Recently, in the summer of 2006, he produced 2 tracks called 'Frozen Desert' and 'Dehydration'. They both got signed by Baroque Records and these will be released soon (date TBA). Many new tracks are currently under construction, clips of them will be posted under the "Discography' and player soon. Oh, by the way, many think that dns Project has something to do with "Domain Name System". It hasn't. :-) The alias was just taken from an old online FPS game called "Unreal Tournament".
