Dallas
There are at least 6 artists by this name: an indie pop band from Estonia; hard rock artist from San Fracisco, CA; the frontman of Fat Freddy's Drop; a punk-pop trio from the north of England and an electro pop band from Belgium
1) Dallas was an indie pop band from Estonia. They formed in Tallinn in 1991 and disbanded in 2003 - soon after singer Kristi Kindel decided to leave the band just before the launch of their last album Delay Lama.
Their major recordings include:
- "Easy listening - Dallas meets Zahir", 1994. A split-tape, Dallas' EP-material on one side, Zahir's "Silo" on the other.
- "Raj Kapoor", 1995.
- Self-titled CD (Dallas) released in 1999 on the Toronto-based High Park Records.
- "Delay Lama", 2003.
Their musical style was often compared to Stereolab, but also to Broadcast, The Cardigans, Komeda and Jesus & the Mary Chain. As these titles refer, it used to be an intriguing blend of 60s estrade, bossanova and twist, 70s progressive, 80s disco and dub and beginnings of 90s shoegaze. Their electro-acoustic sound got another twist by their use of mainly East-German guitars and synthesizers.
Dallas were:
KRISTI KINDEL - vocals, synthesizers
HOLGER LOODUS - guitar, vocals
TAUNO PÄÄSLANE - bass, guitar
IVIKA NOOP - keyboards
ALLAN AMBERG - drums
After the break-up their frontman Holger Loodus started a solo-project Mirabilia.
2) Dallas is a hard rock project led by Bryan Dallas from San Francisco, CA
Dallas released their first digital EP Over The Edge on May 8th, 2012.
Bryan Dallas composes all of the music, songs, performances, and
vocals. Bryan explains, “I think the ‘Over The Edge’ EP is a culmination of several years
of development and disciplined chaos''

3) Dallas is New Zealand singer Dallas Tamaira, front-man of Fat Freddy's Drop, also known as Joe Dukie. He released an EP under this name called "Better Than Change" and has had several tracks, e.g. 'The Garden' on compilations. Since gaining fame with Fat Freddy's Drop he appears to only be working under the alias Joe Dukie.
4) Dallas hail from the north of England, sound like Buffalo Tom playing Dammed songs, and play love songs for punk rockers. They were founded in 2008, and consist of Nick, Greg and James.

5) Dallas are Belgian actress Veerle Baetens and Sandrine Collard (Ideal Husband), assisted by producer Jeroen Swinnen who has worked with Belgian superstars Daan, Novastar, Vive La Fête etc. Their style, Euro-disco, -pop, or-chanson is introduced by the question:' What if a hitchhiking France Galle, Marianne Faithfull and Amanda Lear were to be picked up by a tour bus, together with a gang of Eurodisco dudes? That's the sound of Dallas; a pop twosome who flirts with danceable yet fragile music, making them as exciting as the intrigues between Sue Ellen and JR.
6) DALLAS from Texas. (http://dallastheband.com/) It was a long time coming before Josh Hendrick, Tyler Halford, and Taylor Johnson were able to do something they all had in mind – create music together.
Meeting through the music scene in Texas, the members of DALLAS have been long time friends and fans of each other’s work in previous projects. Despite the years of mutual admiration, they were all waiting for the right time when they could collectively write and perform together. When Hendrick’s previous band dismembered he quickly sought out Johnson and Halford to form DALLAS. With each member so rooted in melody and songwriting the songs they have crafted for their first release are just as intricate as they are easy to listen to and sing along with. While it required some patience, the timing for this trio is finally right to embrace DALLAS. Read more on Last.fm.
