Danny Red
Danny Red award winning Roots Reggae singer, Danny was mentored in Rastafari by the late Mortimer (Bro Cummie) Planno, the Late Sam Brown (Jamaica) and the Late Jah Bones (London) as well as Danny's close and long time Bredrin the Late Ras Xylon (Lidj Inc) although these brothers have passed on they were always encouraging Danny to pursue his love for music.
Danny started his recording career in Kingston Jamaica 1983 with songs like "Who Seh Jah Jah", "Blackness Awareness", "Duppy Conqueror" and more but it was not until the early nineties Danny found some success in the UK roots scene were he has become a major force, Danny was voted the best roots artist 94 & 95 as well as being the first roots artist to be signed to Columbia records for 25 years during 1995.
Danny has worked with many top producers, recording in Jamaica, the US and UK, Danny has worked and toured with such artists as Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Freddy McGregor, Anthony Johnson, Nitty Gritty, Earl Sixteen, Horace Andy, Daddy Freddie, Starkey Banton, Top Cat, Gospel Fish, DJ Muggs (Cyprus Hill), Joseph Cotton, Soul II Soul, Prince Lincoln, Twinkle Brothers, Johnny Osbourne, Blaka T, JR Frost, lucky dube, Half Pint, Shinehead, Lloyd Brown, Vivian Jones, Lidj Inc, Phillip Frazer, Little Kirk, and many more.
Danny is currently working with Manasseh, Gussie P and Mafia & Fluxy as well as Danny's label Ababajanoi.
