Devilfish
Frederik Soderstrom and Sina Morshed Solouk are the Evil Minded Producers behind the awesome live techno assault known as Devilfish. The Devilfish collaboration began 3 years ago after the two DJs met in Greece and decided to return to their native Sweden to conquer the world of techno.
From their first ever studio production, "Strawberry Fields" and debut album "Freakshow", right through to the instant classic "Manalive" and the new album "Techwise and Otherwise", Devilfish have been prolific producers of solid, slammin' techno and innovators of their very own Evil Minded sound. Devilfish tracks and remixes have occupied the crates of major techno taste-makers across the world including Luke Slater and Joey Beltram, and their track "Manalive" was recently licensed to a mix CD by the legendary Carl Cox.
The Devilfish duo has also earned an extensive range of remix credits for such high profile artists as Trevor Rockliffe, Thomas Schumaker and La Familia, and their remix of Andrew McLauchlin's "Love Story" has dominated dancefloors worldwide for its fusion of hard-edged techno beats with funky percussion.
The Devilfish sound is best described as funky and hard techno designed for the dancefloor, and represents sophisticated studio production techniques and an uncanny ear for quality drum loops and effects. The Devilfish collaboration combines the resources of two extremely talented producers in their own right, as both Frederik and Sina record for numerous solo projects and other collaborations under different monikers.
Together Sina and Frederik are also responsible for the techno madness created by Intergalactic Phonk (on Frequent), the funky house grooves of SF Express and Pimp Squad (on Boo Records) and for the dark, evil electro sounds of CFA (on Meltdown Communications). Through their innovative recordings within these and other projects, Devilfish are constantly pushing the barriers of traditional techno. The complex loops and effects created by the Devilfish duo are continuously evolving and consistently funky.
The two Evil Minded Swedish producers continue to release a range of diverse and innovative, but always slammin' and funky tracks through Bush Records and its offshoots Boo and Meltdown Comunications. After a successful Australasian tour in early 2001, Devilfish have returned to Europe to continue their solid studio production and to take their awesome live show on tour across the world.
