DEYA DOVA’s sound has been likened to Fever Ray, Trentemoller and Bjork mixed with something refreshingly unique (IN THE MIX). Based in Byron Bay she is one of the few self produced female Australian artists.
Hailing from the Nullarbor desert in South Australia and growing up alongside the traditional Indignenous people of whale dreaming country, DEYA’s take on music is wide screen. Her cross genre appeal has seen her play festival stages including; Peats Ridge Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, Rainbow Serpent Festival (Vic), Maya Festival (Melbourne), QLD Multi Cultural Festival (Brisbane), Sydney Food & Wine Fair, Tribal Sessions (SEQld), , Southern Oracle Festival (SEQld), Unity Festival, Exodus Festival, Sense of Wonder (Japan), Printemps De Bourges (France) and LaBaite (Switzerland).
The power of DEYA DOVA is in her stunningly visual and theatrical high energy live performances, which are receiving rave reviews and earning her a devoted following around the country. Onstage DEYA is a sensual feminine BOMB, igniting audiences with her infectious positive energy and expansive sound. With her band the album tracks & remixes come to life with a beautiful blend of electronics and live organic instrumentation. DEYA DOVA recently opened for Tijuana Cartel around the country with absolutely knock out sets, igniting audiences in capacity venues.
SHADOW ON THE SUN is the first single from a forthcoming EP due to be released in the first half of 2013.The song features rich textural layers, crisp electronic beats, indie drums and DEYA’s evocative catchy vocals.
