Diana Karazon
Diana Karazon (Arabic: ديانا كرزون) (Born October 30, 1983 in Kuwait and raised and lived in Amman, Jordan) is a Jordanian singer who rose to popularity around the world after winning the first season of Super Star by Future Television.
Ever since she was very young, her family, and especially her father, a guitarist and member of the Artists' Syndicate, encouraged her to sing. She sang Um Kulthum's songs before chanting lyrics and children songs during festivals, in addition to giving other performances on stage.
Diana is involved in many activities in Amman, such as operettas. In 2000, she represented Jordan in 'Dubai Amateurs' Festival' and ranked third. Before 'Super Star', she last participated in MBC's 'Best Voice' radio contest and won the title. Diana sensed the importance of 'Super Star' and rejoiced at the invitation to participate in the program's tour shooting in Syria. "Facing the judges' panel was terrorizing, but I had come to show my talent and give my best performance". Diana remembers the day she passed the first round, "I received thousands of phone calls, and this enthusiasm was the greatest victory for me".
She has represented Jordan in Super Star, but later on she represented The Arabic Countries when she participated in the international World Idol competition and was remembered for singing an Arabic song when all other contestants sang in English. Diana ranked number nine among the eleven contestants; she shared the rank with the German contestant, Alexander Klaws.
Diana includes Fairuz & Warda as her main musical inspirations.
