Doch
Doch is a Brisbane based band, featuring seven young and highly energetic musicians. Their passion and exuberance match their obvious musical abilities. They are professional, committed and unrelenting in delivering the best show at all times.
Micheal Rodgers, lead of Doch, also has another similar band which is very popular with their woodford audiences Miguel. www.last.fm/music/Miguel www.miguel.com.au
The music’s rawness, passion and lyricism connect with both the young and old, making this music popular amongst all ages. It has screaming solos and furious tempos that get the feet moving …. quickly. And when the beat-driven grooves give way to lush musical textures and sweet melodies… brace yourself for the crescendo of excitement to follow!
The band has already generated considerable excitement in their hometown, Brisbane, receiving coverage in The Courier Mail, The Sunday Mail, City News, Time Off and various suburban newspapers, as well as airplay on Radio National and Triple Zed. They have also appeared on ABC television's Stateline. They are receiving national attention as a result of acclaimed festival sets, such as those at the 2003 Woodford Folk Festival, at the World Beat Festival and Cabaret Festival at the Brisbane Powerhouse, at the 2003 Valley Fiesta and at the world famous Spiegeltent Danspaleis as part of the Brisbane Biennial Festival of Music.
Doch released their debut, full-length album ‘Chasing Grasshoppers’ in December 2002. It was launched with great fanfare at an event featuring a specially assembled 30-piece Gypsy Orchestra and is being distributed nationally through MGM Distribution. They have also recently shot their first music video clip, “Biba’s Sorrow”.
Doch is highly suitable for parties, festivals and celebratory occasions. They work well both indoors and outdoors – providing people have room to dance. Their music transcends age and trends – making them highly attractive for general public events. They are also perfect for events that attract the dedicated music lover, with their meticulous musicality, unique arrangements and instrumentation, and eclectic musical sources. Read more on Last.fm.
