Dorothy Carter
Dorothy Carter was born in 1935 and sadly passed away in 2003. She is best remembered as Co-founder of the popular group Mediaeval Baebes along with Katherine Blake who she met on the German Cabaret scene. She also was a talented multi-instrumentalist and released a solo album "Lonesome Dove". Dorothys role in the Mediaeval Baebes was as instrumentalist, playing instruments such as Hammered Dulcimers, Zithers, Psaltery, and Hurdy Gurdy. She provided vocals too on tracks L'amour de Moi and So Sprecht Das Leben. Dorothy was blessed with an inate sense of humour and one of the first gigs she played with the Mediaeval Baebes was an impromptu performance in a graveyard. Keeping up with a bunch of party girls too was no mean feat but Dorothy managed this with dignity intact :)
