EMI MARIA
Emi Maria is an R&B singer from Papua New Guinea and raised in Kobe, Japan.
In 2000, she drew on influence from her older sister listening to R&B artists such as K-Ci & JoJo, Mariah Carey, and Janet Jackson. From there she became very interested in producing music and enrolled in music classes with an enthusiastic interest. By 2004 she auditioned for the television show "MTV STAR TOUR" featuring Japanese artists ZEEBRA, KEN-BO, and 今井了介 (Ryosuke Imai). In 2005, Emi Maria began her professional career with an agency, making her debut as a minor in 2006 with live events and club performance, eventually being featured on a track included on SEEDA's album.
For the first half of 2007, Emi Maria was dedicated to working on her debut album and making featured appearances on various tracks for mix CDs and albums by TOMOGEN and MC MOGGY. On October 24, 2007, Emi Maria released her first original mini album "Between the Music", afterward promoting it with a live schedule. Emi Maria closed out 2008 with the release of her first single "I gotta -Summer Kiss", and on November 5th, 2008, debuted her first full original album "A Ballad Of My Own". Read more on Last.fm.
