EXO-M
EXO-M is a South Korean boy band formed by S.M. Entertainment in April 2012, a sub-unit from the main group EXO, divided into two subgroups, EXO-K and EXO-M, promoting in South Korea and China separately. EXO-M was composed of six members: Kris (吴亦凡), Xiumin (시우민), Tao (黄子韬/Z.TAO/ZTAO), Chen (첸), Lay (张艺兴), and Luhan (鹿晗). In 2014, leader Kris left after filing a lawsuit against S.M. Entertainment. Soon after, Luhan and Tao also left the group. In 2017, member Lay began promoting in China, making him unable to be a part of EXO's THE WAR.
Their prologue (promotional) single "What Is Love" was released on January 30, 2012. Their second single "HISTORY" was released on March 8th 2012. On April 8th 2012, the group released their third single "MAMA", before releasing their debut extended play MAMA the next day. All three singles were included in the extended play.
On May 17, 2014, EXO-M released their mini-album 上瘾 (Overdose). Once again, EXO-M promoted the album in China while EXO-K promoted their version in South Korea.
On May 15, 2014, S.M. Entertainment confirmed that EXO-M's leader, Kris, had filed a lawsuit against the agency to terminate his contract, stating violation of human rights as the main reason. On October 10, EXO-M's Luhan also filed a lawsuit against S.M. Entertainment to nullify his contract, because of health issues and being treated differently than the Korean members, therefore having no promotions. Read more on Last.fm.
