Emme Ya
Emme Ya is the deep exploration of Colombian artist Edgar Kerval in the fields of sonic mutations and hybrid soundscapes, emerging from astral atavisms. Emme Ya is a black planet with two suns (256=11×23 E.Q) in the sirius binary star-system. In such a planet resides mostly loas, spirits from Atlantean tradition, and extra-terrestrial emanations surrounding the aura of planet earth. Emme Ya is an experimental organism growing and mutating all the time. An abstract vacuity and magickal paradigms transmitted through the Ritual Mantras generated by Emme Ya.
The main influences are the ancient mystical cultures, such as atlantis, sumerian gods, voodoo pantheon, atavisms, and diverse abstract forms which reflect into our mind, more than the perceived reality hidden in ancient stellar wisdom. “Such vast forms are channels of perceptions which I focus through Emme Ya. The transmissions appeared to my mind in a mutating way, showing me the path to follow… a dark path beyond the stars.
The name "Emme Ya" comes from the mythology of the Dogon tribe, who believe that the brightest star in the sky, Sirius (sigi tolo or 'star of the Sigui'), has two companion stars, pō tolo (the Digitaria star), and ęmmę ya tolo, (the female Sorghum star).
