Ethyl Meatplow
Ethyl Meatplow was a short-lived, yet enormously accomplished, pseudo-industrial alternative/dance-rock outfit comprised of vocalist Carla Bozulich, drummer "Biff" Barefoot Sanders, and singer, programmer John Napier. Formed 1989, the group released three independent singles before their only album, 1993's Happy Days Sweetheart. The group earned a reputation for their live shows, which combined samples and electronics with live instrumentation. Happy Days Sweetheart earned good reviews in alternative/underground magazines yet the band spilt soon after its release. Bozulich became the vocalist for the pseudo-country-rock group the Geraldine Fibbers, later working with Nels Cline in Scarnella and going solo. Biff continued the electronic vein in doing all the original score for Bravo's Project Runway and Top Chef reality TV shows. Check out Incest Cattle, The Mongrels, Civil Dismay....All these bands John played in the early 80's.
