Evariste
Evariste (real name Joel Sternheimer) is a singer, French physicist and researcher, born 31 January 1943 in Montluel (Ain)
In 1966, the costs of the Vietnam War lead to job cuts in American universities. A French, Joel Sternheimer, doctor of theoretical physics 23 years, sees his job as assistant at Princeton (at the teacher Wigner) in the list of suppressions.
At that time, in France, the phenomenon Antoine takes the form of a revolution, his engineering degree sets it apart from classical pop world.
Returned to France for the Christmas holidays, he passed an audition at Disc'AZ (obtained via a friend met at the restaurant of the École Normale Supérieure), and records within a few days, under the pseudonym of Evariste (reference to Evariste Galois), a disc-shaped surreal dialogue between a night owl and a roaring saurian, which, in the wake of Anthony and his rantings, also know a great success: Do you know the animal that invented the calculus?. (Connais-tu l’animal qui inventa le calcul intégral ?)
This trip was intended to be short-lived. The following year, however, broke out in France May 68, which prompted the singer to take the guitar to record, this time in self - with the approval of the boss Disc'AZ Lucien Morisse - a disc more clearly political accents:
« Si j’suis tombé par terre
C’est la faute à Nanterre
Le nez dans le ruisseau
C’est la faute à Grimaud… »
He soon finds himself adopted by the Hara-Kiri band, starting with Georges Wolinski who drew in Action, and later wrote some pretty abstract political and epistemological articles in Charlie Hebdo.
When Claude Confortès proposes to do a show from the series " I do not want to die idiot" of Wolinski, it is natural to demand to Évariste to write and perform these songs.
Subsequently, the researcher Joel Sternheimer - independent researcher, for his music gave him some financial independence - will override the singer Evariste. It is thus interested in possible relationships between plant growth (and more generally the synthesis of proteins) and their exposure to musical sequences, assisted by his young Japanese wife.
But humor has never abandoned: he married the latter in the city of Seix (Ariège). Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
