Finn Silver
Sweet songs with a viscious edge, that's how the music of Finn Silver can be described. Light as a feather Finn Silver is taking you along the cliffs of fat hiphop, deep jazz and mysterious singer/songwriter melodies.
Finn Silver was formed by a unexpected combination of topmusicians. Producer Mark Berman and singer/lyricist Fridolijn van Poll started this new band and were able to get some topmusicians on board of the project, resulting in a unique Amsterdam - London - Berlin connection.
Londonbased drummer Richard Spaven (Jose James/Flying Lotus/Cinematic Orchestra) is collaborating with the dutch king of free jazz, upright bass player Ernst Glerum. Bass player Glenn Gaddum Jr. and Pianist Daan Herweg (Caro Emerald) were closely involved in the writing process, just as 21 year old rising saxophone-star Ben van Gelder.
Early 2011 the band finished their debutealbum which was recorded in Berlin, by Axel Reinemer, member of the legendary Jazzanova collective.
On February first Finn Silver's first single Roadtrip was released, followed by an extended tour along radio, local TV and festivals. Receiving good reviews right from the start. Dutch musicwebsite 3voor12 wrote: "Fridolijn van Poll (singer) has a voice soft as velvet. Supported by the beautiful, atmospheric music Finn Silver is one of the most original acts you'll hear in the times ahead." (translated)
On may 23rd 2011 Finn Silver's debutalbum Crossing the Rubicon was released on their own label Jazzberry Records.
With a strong band, an special liveshow that contains beautiful video-art and a killer of an album in their hands Finn Silver is ready to hit the festivals and stages in 2011.

"All the layers come together perfectly, which makes this album a soft, yet impressive accomplishment that has not really been heard before." Translated from Demofarm.net
"…Crossing the Rubicon is like a pop jazz record that fell out of the heavens, doing justice to the legacy of great vocal jazz records. It’s a torch-bearer kind of album." nahhoe.wordpress.com
