Gerhard Heinz
The king of sleazy listening, Gerhard Heinz is the Austrian composer responsible for a multitude of 60's and 70's soft porn soundtracks. His compilation album, Melodies in Love is named after the Hubert Frank film, Melody in Love, a tropical island sex adventure about freedom, love, volcanoes, and sunken treasure. The arrangements are simple, the vocals are wispy and the movies represent the best of European escapist skin flicks. The only question after listening to his music is whether the sex sounds were added in-studio or if they were just taken directly form the film. A must-have for the fan of bossa nova funk sleaze.
He was born in Vienna, Austria on September 9, 1927. He was a student at the Vienna University of Technology when he became a member of The Horst Winter Orchestra in 1950. He mainly composed music for schlager artists in his early years, before embarking for Italy, France and then eventually the United States. He began composing music for movies in the 1960s, having composed over a hundred scores since then. Read more on Last.fm.
