Gonnagles
Gonnagles is a folk collective from the Netherlands, based in Enschede. Their repertoire consists largely of original compositions in the Flemish and French balfolk tradition. They put a personal twist on the old dances ranging between creative, modern, and bizarre.
Apart from a growing number of performances in the Netherlands they have a long history of gigs in Germany, where they've established a loyal fan base within the burgeoning bal folk scene.
The band features several multi-instrumentalists and boasts an impressive number of instruments: four violins, six guitars, three accordions, an alto violin, three djembes, three flutes, three bodhráns, eleven tin whistles, three bass guitars, one trumpet, one double bass, one accordion, one cello, one harp, one Nordic low whistle, four cajóns, two pianos, one xylophone, one clarinet, three kazoos, one rattle and a " woei-fluitje". To the band's great regret they've never been able to play all of these instruments at once . Read more on Last.fm.
