Grains of Sound
Chilled-out voyages to the corners of the universe and the corners of the mind. Grains of Sound constructs evolving layers of distant lifeforms, glassy robotic beacons, and sub frequencies that are compellingly vast, sending listeners on heart-felt expeditions which are way in and way out.
Grains of Sound is a new project from brothers Chris and Jason Sevanick, the duo behind the pummeling club tracks and powerful anthems of the dark electronic act, Mindless Faith.
In addition to music from their last two CD's featured on MTV's reality shows "Road Rules" and "The Real World", and on the hot new X-box 360 video game, "Project Gotham Racing 3", Mindless Faith has also toured around the United States. And thanks to their blistering remix of the Nine Inch Nails track "Only", Mindless Faith was backstage to meet Trent Reznor and crew at four consecutive NIN shows in November 2005.
Although a long time in the making, as a project, Grains of Sound does not yet have the same extensive track record or cult following. However, even prior to any release, Grains of Sound's song "Ultraviolet" was featured on a special episode of National Public Radio's "All Songs Considered", and the ambient duo, Carbon Based Lifeforms commented, "Sweeeet tracks!" on the Grains of Sound myspace page.
Now with the release of their debut CD's "Rays of Life" (Vol. 1 and Vol. 2) on their own label, AlterCulture Records, along with live perfomances in NYC and at Gaian Mind and ORB Festivals, the time for Grains of Sound has finally come.
