Green Street
There are Two groups using the name Greenstreet:
1. GREEN STREET is the collaborative effort between 3 production minded friends located in southeastern United States. Part of the LA based record label Cold Busted, and the Manchester, UK based Nocturnal Recordings, Green Street has steadily built a funky and soulful catalog for every kind of listener. Providing house tracks for the clubs and chilled downtempo beats for the pool, its easy to kick back or cut a rug to their grooves.
2. Green Street is a hip-hop/jazz group, consisting of emcees A-live and Soupa and producer Renaissance. Originally from Boston, MA and now residing in Brooklyn, NY, they are always trying to push the boundaries of hip-hop music. By using everything from samples to live instrumentation, Green Street brings back the sound from the Native Toungues-era while still keeping it fresh and relevant for today’s audience.
Often compared to the likes of A Tribe Called Quest and The Roots, Green Street brings a positive energy with their music, fusing true school hip-hop rhetoric with soulful jazzy backdrops. In 2006, they released their critically acclaimed independent album Livin’ On Green Street, and since then Green Street has gone on to collaborate with Oddisee, Tableek, The Black Sunn, 810, Nieve, and more.
