Hasna
Hasna is a talented Moroccan singer who appeared suddenly on the musical scene and in no time made it to the top with a number of superb songs. Her claim to fame was her remake of Marsoul El Hob, composed by the Moroccan musician Abdel Wahab el-Doukali. el-Doukali himself was astonished at the amount of success Hasna brought to a song he thought was now old and forgotten.
Hasna began her pan-Arab musical career with her 2001 album, Hasna 2001, which was released under the Alam El Phan label did not meet with great success. Her 2003 album, Hasna, was a huge hit and propelled her to the top of the charts, with hits like Ana Kolli Leik and Marsoul El Hob. Hasna followed it up with her 2005 album, Bamba, and she was now signed with Rotana. The first single she released from the album, Bamba, was well-received, but the hit single Shoufo Shoufo was the highlight of the album. The video clip for Shoufo Shoufo featured the world kickboxing champion, Riyad Al Azzawi from Iraq.
In 2007, Hasna released her latest album, Albi Eb Khatar. The album was a departure from Jean Saliba, who produced her previous album, and had a more "Arabic" feel in terms of instruments and style. Hasna's first single from the album, Hob Wala, was her first collaboration with Egyptian composer Tamer Ashour. Recently, she released the second video clip from the album, Youm Fel Omr, on Rotana channels. Though she did not release it as a single, Waraq El Kharif has proven to be an underrated hit for Hasna.
