Hausmylly
Hausmylly (1989-) is an often underrated Finnish pop/dance/rap act, which has gathered a strong following during its long and colorful career.
One of the first rap acts in Finland, founded in 1989 by Hannu "Enzo" Pulkkinen & Mika "Micky" Kauppinen. These two former dj's were soon joined by future vocalist, Jari "Drome" Karjalainen who became an important creative force in the band as a composer & producer as well. The first album "Schysteemi" had also Pekka "Dj Psyko" Mykkänen in the background.
Together with keyboardist / producer / composer Petri "Lowland" Alanko, the band were responsible for some of the most catchy (and kitsch) Finnish dancetracks of the 1990's, such as "Se Mustamies", "Gigolo", "Ikävä Lokakuu" etc.
Jari Karjalainen left the band to concentrate on other projects in 2004, and the lead vocalist was replaced by the talented Sami Asp. Asp had formerly been the band's gig guitarist. Later, Karjalainen appeared in Hausmylly's promo-single "Suruntuoja" (2006).
On January 12th, 2007, Petri "Lowland" Alanko announced the band had split : founding members Enzo and Micky were kicked and Hausmylly as a whole was seemingly brought to an abrupt end. However, not more than a couple of weeks later, they agreed that Enzo and Micky would continue as Hausmylly. They released their latest album Kaverinkaverinkaveri 17.11.2007.
