Hector Maure
The tango musician Héctor Mauré was born on March 13, 1920 as Vicente José Falivene in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He soon developed a passion for music and for boxing; but when he got badly hurt during a fight in 1937 he decided to concentrate on singing. Mauré started to appear with a number of noted tango orchestras as of 1937. His debut single, a version of Juan Carlos Gravis’ vals “Flor de Mal”, was recorded in 1940. Soon, Mauré became a celebrated star in Argentina. In 1955 the new Argentinean government banned his songs, since he was an outspoken supporter of Perón. Mauré died in 1976.http://www.todotango.com/english/creadores/hmaure.asp Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
