Hototogisu
Matthew Bower and Marcia Bassett.
Hototogisu, like Double Leopards and Skullflower before them, may have stumbled upon the perfect sound of total oblivion. Bower and Bassett drag the quantum chaos from the cells of their brains to the strings of their guitars, bringing along all of their acid-burnt nightmares. Full to the brim with drone and atmosphere, it really pushes the listener beyond normal consciousness and into something more zen. Earlier recordings are very similar to Bower's work in Sunroof!. "Green" is a wonderful fluke, an album of deconstructed black metal. Later work is them in their element, total chaos and total drone. Read more on Last.fm.
