Hueber
Hueber Verlag GmbH & Co KG is a privately owned company owned by Michaela and Max Hueber (grandchildren of Max Hueber, who founded the company in 1921).
Hueber was the first publisher to develop materials for the teaching of German as a Foreign Language (1955). Hueber is now the largest German as a Foreign Language publisher in the world. Every year, many thousands of teachers and students make use of Hueber course books and materials from primary school to university level.
As well as publishing German as a Foreign Language materials, Hueber also make their course books in more than 30 languages. Hueber’s close contact with foreign language teachers and international publishers enables the company to develop materials that enjoy enormous success in the foreign language classroom, including main course books, supplementary materials, readers, dictionaries, language practice books and materials for self-tuition. Hueber also offers a complete range of materials developed to prepare for recognised examinations set by national and international bodies.
Hueber's publications in the areas of applied linguistics and methodology cover the major topics of current interest in foreign language teaching.
