Ingrid Fliter
Ingrid Fliter (born September 23, 1973) in Buenos Aires, Argentina began her piano studies in Argentina with Elizabeth Westerkamp. In 1992, at the suggestion of Martha Argerich, she moved to Europe where she continued her studies with Vitalj Margulis at the Musikhochschule fur Musik in Freiburg and subsequently with Carlo Bruno in Rome and at the Academy "Incontri col Maestro" in Imola under the leadership of Franco Scala and Boris Petrushansky. She has also participated in masterclasses with Leon Fleisher, Alexander Lonquich and Louis Lortie and receives ongoing musical support and artistic advice from Zoltan Kocsis.
Ms. Fliter was the recipient of the 2006 Gilmore Artist Award[1]. Only the fifth pianist to have been so honored, the [Gilmore Artist Award] is made to an exceptional pianist who, regardless of age or nationality, possesses broad and profound musicianship and charisma and who desires and can sustain a career as a major international concert artist. Already the winner of several Argentine competitions, she went on to win first prize at the Cantu International Competition and fourth prize at the Ferruccio Busoni Competition in Italy and in 2000 was awarded the silver medal at the International Frederick Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.
