JILS
JILS was an indies visual kei band. Their music style is pretty melodic and mostly melancholic, yet energetic. Their visual style is basically 'Kurofuku kei' (黒服系), concentrating on (in vk terms) simple black clothing, including suits etc.
JILS was formed in 1999 by vocalist 幸也-YUKIYA- (Ex-D≒SIRE), guitarist 舜-SHUN- (later named 俊介-SHUNSUKE-, Ex-Vasalla), guitarist MARIKI (Ex-ZENITH) and drummer 秀誉-HIDEYOSHI- (ex-D≒SIRE). In December, 1999 HIDEYOSHI left the band and shortly after, two new members joined JILS forming a complete 5 member line-up: the bassist 蓮-REN- (ex-Da'vidノ使徒:aL, pleur, now in C4), and drummer 徹-TOHRU- (ex-Merry Go Round, Of-J).
They stayed like this and released a lot of successful releases but after 2 years, REN, MARIKI and TOHRU left the band.
Around 2003, new bassist 一朗-ICHIRO- (ex-DAS:VASSER) joined, and also old bandmate HIDEYOSHI re-joined again on drums, but after a few months he left, so JILS was a 3 piece band again in mid-2003. They performed with various session/support drummers, such as ササブチ ヒロシ (ex-Velvet Blue), 加藤友啓 (ex-Klein Kaiser) and Tomoi (ex-Laputa).
Between 1999 and 2004 they released an impressive amount of demotapes, singles and albums until they eventually went on a break. Between 2004 and 2006 the members focused on other activities such as side projects. (Shunsuke: The "FUZZ"; Ichiro: ROOM#NUMBER).
In 2006 they joined together again and released new material, but in the beginning of 2007 they announced to disband indefinetly after a last tour in April/May 2007.
