JMC
There are at least three artists using the name JMC.
The first is an emMCee by the name Jason M. Christos. The second are a Scottish metal band from Central Scotland:
Justin McConville, Derek Rae, Nikki Hawryliw and Andy Burton formed JMC in mid-November 2005. At that time the guys were involved in other musical projects, and playing venues both all over the UK and abroad. Justin had spent a few months previously laying down his ideas at Bone’s Washoose Studios... these ideas became what we know today as “Slack Babbeth” and was the benchmark along with tracks from Burton, Derek & Nikki to put JMC on the stage very quickly. JMC were on the road by the 9th of December doing their first show in Starka. The spark of musicianship was mutual, and with that the band pulled off a mind-blowing set which was well received by the crowd.
JMC set themselves another challenge by selling their venue of choice out... None other than The Cathouse in Glasgow. On the 31st March 2006 the band succeed and headlined the show, blasting out their unique Hard-Rock/Metal sound to a packed Cathouse crowd. The gig turned out to be a huge success, putting JMC in the forefront of better things yet to come... After a line of gigs, The Band were announced to play the renowned iRock Festival in Plettenberg, Germany and were deemed in the German press as one of the main highlights of the event!
Next on the JMC calender (after the boys got through a crazy rock ‘n’ roll summer of mayhem) was the opportunity by KINGSONIC PROMOTIONS & CPL Ltd. at short notice, to support BUCKCHERRY at the Cathouse on the 6th September. The band obviously jumped at the chance! The gig was completely sold out and the crowd went absolutely wild watching the band’s set. JMC then went on their travels to London, headlining the Blue Peace festival in Embankment Gardens... The crowd could come and go as they please as everyone was welcome to this free, open air event, but they all hung around to catch JMC, jumping around to mid-set covers Whole Lotta Rosie and Fight For Your Right.
After their return, the band played a few more gigs with KINGSONIC PROMOTIONS finishing the year off with a crackin’ gig at G2 in Glasgow. A fantastic year for JMC including the preparation for new album RVR, released 12th February 2007.
The name JMC is also contested by JMC207 and dogshift. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
